Klaus Barbie, and Other Dolls I'd Like to See

Description: Barbies and other dolls portray an initial message to young
girls that they have to look and act a certain way in order to be
beautiful.

Analysis:
-Because Barbies of other ethnicities and background only exists as
limited additions, or do not exist at all, making white the norm. (73)
-Girls want and try to actually be like Barbie in the way they look,
wanting whiteness, long hair, blue eyes, and soft traits. (73)
-Plastic Surgery often reflects the looks that Barbie has. (73)

Vision: Making dolls that are more real life and don't have restrictions
of body shape and race, relieving young girls of the pressure that exists
to look like today's dolls. (74)

Strategy:
- Make Barbies that incorporate women's independence and uniqueness such
as Bisexual Barbie, Harley Barbie, and Butch Barbie. (74-75)
